surrealism thoughts
Surrealism
Surrealism is
a very interesting art movement as it proves to be very applicable to the art
work of games design, given that it gives off a confusing but also interesting
vibe mixing fantasy with reality. This in turn allows a games artist to come up
with more impressive ideas for characters, props or scenery art. However it’s not just for the reason of using it for application towards the artwork of games but also how interesting it is in general, given the whole movement has become an influence to current modern creative products released throughout the world, which can prove to be practical or just plain artistic in what the item is used for or conveys.
Surrealism itself is a very impacting art movement as it has gone to influence not only creative Medias like art, literature and culture but even stretching to higher areas like politics that govern the structure of a country, city or area. Surrealism opens the eyes of the world to see that art itself is not just minor creations of visual and literal aspects but that it has a subconscious level of understanding as well. [1]
Surrealism in the whole is an amazing art with a lot still to explore and learn about it, especially the impacts it has caused.

Precisionism
- Precisionism was started up after world war 1 in the USA, but its term became known in the 1920s
- It was strongly influenced by cubism and futurism.
- It showed themes of modernisation and industrialisation within american landscapes, the art itself was made from sharply defined, precise, geometrical forms.
Likes and dislikes
- I like how I can best relate this art movement to my future designs.
- I like how it draws inspiration from industrial buildings as it indicates the growing civilsation.
- I slightly dislike how it requires perspective to be extremely precise.
Optical art
- Optical art or op art is an art style that uses the idea of optical illusions.
- Op art started around the 1930s, but it wasn't referred as op art until around the 1960s.
Likes and dislikes
- I like the illusionary idea which provides some entertainment.
- I dislike the fact it only uses tones, even though that method is effective for this kind of art.

Surrealism
- Surrealism is a cultural movement developed in the 1920s.
- The work of surrealism produced an element of surprise, abnormal imagery and unexpected juxtapositions.
- The term of surrealist was devised by a poet called Guillaume Apollinaire
Likes and dislikes
- I like the manipulation of common things with more then what is expected is very interesting and appealing (e.g. looks like an island with houses but it is actually a dinosaur).
- I like the mixture of fantasy and normal entities, this provides an audience with the means to let them express their imaginations.
- I dislike how weird the art can become at times, even if they have deep meanings.
